Rerolling in Honkai: Star Rail is slower than in almost any other gacha game. For most players it is not worth it. This guide covers what the Departure Warp guarantees, how pity works, and the full reroll steps if you still want to try.

- 50 warps on the Departure Warp, with a guaranteed 5-star inside them

Should you reroll in Honkai: Star Rail?
For most players, no. The opening has a lot of story and you cannot skip the dialogue. Reaching the point where you can warp takes 30 to 40 minutes per attempt. That is a long time for a result you cannot control.
Rerolling is worth considering in two cases. The first is when you start on a new server and want a particular standard-pool 5-star. The second is when you plan to play for months and want the strongest possible start.
The reasons against are strong. The Departure Warp uses the standard pool only, so it cannot give you the current limited character. Version 4.4 started on 15 July 2026, and its featured units are on the Character Event Warp. You cannot reach them by rerolling on the beginner banner.
How do you reroll?
- Create a HoYoverse account with a new email. There is no guest login, so every attempt needs its own address.
- Choose your server. Progress does not carry across America, Europe and Asia, so choose the one you will actually play on.
- Clear the prologue. Allow 30 to 40 minutes. You cannot skip the dialogue.
- Claim everything in your in-game mail. Your starting Star Rail Passes and Stellar Jades arrive here. The amount changes with current events and redemption codes, so read the mail instead of expecting a fixed number.
- Warp on the Departure Warp first. Its 10-warp sets cost 8 Star Rail Passes instead of 10.
- Check your result. Reaching the guaranteed 5-star takes all 50 warps, which makes the attempt around two hours long.
- Start again with a new email if the account is not what you want.
What does the Departure Warp guarantee?
The Departure Warp guarantees one 5-star character within 50 warps. Every 10-warp set also guarantees at least one 4-star or better, and each 10-warp set costs 8 Star Rail Passes instead of 10. Once you pull the 5-star, the banner disappears permanently.
The banner uses the standard pool only. It has no 5-star Light Cones and no limited characters, so it cannot give you the current featured unit.
How does pity work?
Every warp costs 160 Stellar Jades, or one Star Rail Pass. Each banner type has its own counter:
- Character Event Warp: soft pity at 74, hard pity at 90, with a 50/50 chance of the featured character.
- Light Cone Event Warp: soft pity at 65, hard pity at 80, and a 75/25 split. Its counter is separate from the character banner.
- Stellar Warp: soft pity at 74, hard pity at 90, with no guarantee.
If you lose the 50/50, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured character. The worst case for a featured unit is 180 warps, which is 28,800 Stellar Jades.
How long does each attempt take?
It takes 30 to 40 minutes to reach the point where you can warp. It takes around two hours if you continue to the 50-warp Departure Warp guarantee.
The minimum time is fixed, because you cannot skip the prologue dialogue. Account creation and email verification add a few minutes to every attempt. The rest of the time depends on how many attempts you are willing to make.
What should you check on a new account?
Check two things before you change anything:
- The server matches the one you meant to play on, or the one you ordered.
- The Stellar Jade and Star Rail Pass balances match what was listed.
If you bought the account and either one is wrong, email team@rerollmart.com before you touch it. If you change the account first, you can no longer get a refund or a replacement.

Is there a faster route?
Each attempt takes 30 to 40 minutes before you can warp, and around two hours if you go for the 50-warp guarantee. Building a large Stellar Jade balance is a separate job. Most of it comes from finishing the Trailblaze Mission story and exploring the maps, not from daily income.
